Our rehearsals
are Monday nights 7:30-9:30 PM at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview,
Illinois (check the rehearsal schedule
for the most up-to-date rehearsal information). See the Directions
page for more information.
During the
school year, the Band Board meets regularly on the first Monday of every month at
Glenbrook South High School at 6:30 P.M. All members are
welcome to attend.
New Members Always Welcome
Adult musicians of all backgrounds and
experience levels are always welcome at our rehearsals. While we
especially need percussion, oboes, and low brass, performers on all band instruments are welcome. We would love to
have you join us on Monday nights in Glenview. See our Home

Concert Attire
Our summer concert
attire is normally a Glenview Concert Band polo shirt and dark pants
or skirts. Members who have paid dues need to pay $10 for their
shirt. Visiting performers can borrow a shirt for a concert or you
may pay $21 for your shirt. If you don't have one, please check with a board member at
rehearsal or email president@glenviewband.org
prior to the concerts.
Our indoor/winter concert attire is typically dark suits,
white shirts, and bow ties for men. Women wear all black dresses or
blouses and slacks or skirts.
Call Times
Call times for concerts are
normally 30-60 minutes before the beginning of the concert. If you
have questions, check the schedule page or call your section leader.
By-Laws and Official Band
Documents
The Glenview Concert Band
is governed by the Band's Executive Board under the guidance of the staff
of the Glenview Park District. The Band's by-laws, revised July
2005, serve as the foundation of the band's activities and daily
operations.
We have also developed guidelines
for the Band's section leaders.
It is important that the members of each section work together to
accomplish all these tasks on a regular basis.
Policy
Update 05-01
addresses the participation of Guest Musicians (non-dues paying
musicians) in the band.
We've prepared Glenview Concert Band
Letterhead. It is to be used for approved Band business.
