Recent Concerts


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, October 2006

The Glenview Concert Band, Kenneth A. Bartosz, conductor, will present a concert at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Glenview (IL) at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, 2006.

The one hour program will use the theme “Rejoice and Be Glad” to present music designed for celebration and reflection. The composers to be featured include Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ralph Vaughn Williams, and Vaclav Nelhybel. Of special interest will be the performance of Reber Clark’s River of Four Reflections, a work based on St. Ignatius Loyola’s formulation of his renowned “Spiritual Excercises.”

Admission is free of charge, but audience members are asked to bring donations of nonperishable foodstuffs or cash to benefit Sister Paulanne’s work with those who have a need.

FEBRUARY 28, 2005

     The Glenview Concert Band and the Deerfield Community Concert Band will join musical forces to present a gala performance in the Social Hall of the Glenview United Methodist Church,  717 Harlem Avenue, Glenview, IL at 3:00 pm on Sunday, April 3, 2005.  (Phone 847.729.1015)

     Kenneth A. Bartosz, the conductor of both bands, has selected a program filled with variety, melody, and rhythm.  Under the general title, “An English Lesson,” the program will feature works by well known English composers, including, Gustav Holst, Gordon Jacob, and Eric Coates.  Pieces by the Australian born Percy Aldridge Grainger, inspired by English folk music will also be heard.  The “Grande Finale” will combine both bands in the monumental First Suite in Eb for Military Band by Holst.

     There will be no admission charge, but audience members are asked to bring non perishable food items which will be used to stock area food pantries.  Please mark your calendars and plant to attend this very special event.
